Honey Topped Corn Bread
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup corn meal
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/3 cup honey
Method
- Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a square pan.
- Combine flour, sugar, cornmeal, baking powder and salt in bowl. Combine milk, eggs, vegetable oil and butter in another small bowl. Mix well.
- Add to flour mixture and stir just until blended. Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake for 35 minutes until wooden pick inserted is clean when pulled out.
- Pour 1/3 cup honey in a dribble fashion all over the top when you pull it out of the oven.
