Honey Topped Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn meal
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup honey

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a square pan.
  • Combine flour, sugar, cornmeal, baking powder and salt in bowl. Combine milk, eggs, vegetable oil and butter in another small bowl. Mix well.
  • Add to flour mixture and stir just until blended. Pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 35 minutes until wooden pick inserted is clean when pulled out.
  • Pour 1/3 cup honey in a dribble fashion all over the top when you pull it out of the oven.
