Davenport Hotel Coffeecake
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 2
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Topping:
- 1 cup walnut, chopped
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
Method
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer, or using a hand mixer. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
- Gradually, add dry ingredients. Mix until batter is smooth. Butter a deep 9" round cake pan.
- Combine all topping ingredients and sprinkle half of the mixture over the batter. Cover with the rest of the batter. Sprinkle with remaining topping. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
