Korean Five Grain Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweet rice
  • 1/3 cup each 3 kinds of grains
  • 1/3 cup red beans

Method

  • Wash and rinse rice and grains. Soak in cold water for 1 hour, separately. Drain.
  • Boil red beans in water uncovered; reduce heat to low and cook until done. Discard remaining liquid, as it will darken the color of the rice dish.
  • Combine soaked grains and cooked red beans with 2 cups of water, stir and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and continue to cook until rice is done. ( A rice cooker can be used instead).
